September 18, 2013 – The Global Conference on Disaster Management event in Chicago next week will feature a presentation by WideBand president Joseph Billings. The session titled “Securely Maintaining Data Access for Business Continuity” will take place on Thursday, September 26 at 9;30am to 10:15am. It will be co-presented by Jon Thomas of GoldKey Security Corporation.
The presentation explores how access to critical data is an essential component to any disaster management strategy. Off-site data centers and cloud providers offer varying levels of resiliency, but organizations need to ensure that only authorized personnel have access to sensitive data. The session will also introduce the importance of immediate access to data and the role that IT security plays. They will discuss how GoldKey technology can be used to completely control access to data stored off-site. They will also cover issues with data center redundancy and how it should factor into disaster contingency plans.
